Speed Racer

When I was a little boy, one of my daily highlights was to watch Speed Racer. This was a Japanese cartoon, adapted to American television. It told the story of a teenage race-car driver, Speed Racer, his girlfriend, Trixie, his awesome racecar, the Mach 5, and his amazing adventures. The show disappeared from our TV screens, and I thought I'd never see it again. Well, the show returned several years ago in reruns on MTV. Even as an adult, I enjoy watching the show. It's really held up well. And of course, there's a lot to make fun of too. Who can forget the hilarious sounds of Speed or Trixie's "Ohhhh" or "Ahhhh" in suprise or shock to some happening on the racecourse?
